Analysis of hypersensitivity reactions against foreign materials

  1. Adverse drug reactions (ADR) with special emphasis on thrombocytopenia developing upon the application of certain drugs, e.g. heparin.

  2. Immunological reactions against biological substances with special emphasis on the preparation of antigens (fungi, etc.) for the diagnosis of type III allergic reactions mediated by precipitating antibodies, e.g. extrinsic allergic alveolitis.

  3. Non-specific and specific hypersensitivity reactions against foreign body implants, notably silicone mammary prostheses.
